The passenger compartment held its shape well in the frontal offset test. Pedal and steering wheel displacements were well controlled. Driver and passenger contact with the airbags was stable. All doors remained closed during the crash.

This vehicle scored 20.14 out of 30 points (Acceptable). Owing to the height and geometry of the front of the V-Class, no tests were performed against the front edge of the bonnet. The protection provided against head injury on the bonnet surface was mostly in the range from marginal to good, with poor results recorded on the stiff windscreen pillars. The bumper scored maximum points in Euro NCAP tests, offering good protection to pedestrians' legs. (Tested by Euro NCAP v7 Heavy Vehicles)
