ANCAP 5 Star Safety Rating - Tested in 2015

The Ford Mondeo was introduced in Australia in May 2015 and New Zealand in April 2015.

In the frontal offset crash test, driver and passenger leg protection was acceptable. Driver chest protection was acceptable in the side impact test. Driver head protection in the side pole test was good.

The passenger compartment held its shape well in the frontal offset test. Pedal and steering wheel displacements were well controlled. Driver and passenger contact with the airbags was stable. All doors remained closed during the crash.

Adult & child head impacts: 17.94 points
Upper leg impacts: 0.00 points
Lower leg impacts: 6.00 points

The bumper scored maximum points for its protection of pedestrians' legs. However, the front edge of the bonnet scored no points, providing poor protection to the pelvis region. Tests on the bonnet surface revealed predominantly good or adequate levels of protection to the head of a struck pedestrian, with poor results recorded only on the stiff windscreen pillars. (Tested by Euro NCAP v7)
