2016 5 star ANCAP rated

The Holden Trailblazer was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in mid-2016. The ANCAP safety rating for the Trailblazer is based on crash tests of the Holden Colorado utility. ANCAP was provided with technical information which showed that the crash test results of the Colorado apply to Trailblazer variants. This ANCAP safety rating applies to all Trailblazer variants built from 4 July 2016.

Dual frontal, side chest and side head-protecting curtain airbags (which cover all three seating rows) and a driver knee airbag are standard. Advanced seat belt reminders are fitted to front and second row seats.

The passenger compartment held its shape well in the frontal offset test. Pedal and steering wheel displacements were well controlled. Driver and passenger contact with the airbags was stable. All doors remained closed during the crash.

The side impact test normally used by ANCAP simulates a small car striking the driver's door of the test vehicle. Experience shows that large vehicles like the Trailblazer can be expected to perform well in this test. ANCAP has adopted a policy of awarding these types of vehicles a default score of 16 points (out of 16).

The vehicle was eligible for a side pole test because it has side curtain airbags. The vehicle scored the maximum 2 points for head protection in this test.

This vehicle scored 28.87 out of 36 points (Good). Mostly good levels of pedestrian protection were seen. Improvements could be made at the bonnet leading edge and at the rear of the bonnet in the region of the air cowl. (v8.2).
