ANCAP 2013 5 five star

The tested model of Volkswagen Golf was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in 2013. This ANCAP safety rating applies to the Golf Mk7.5 which was launched in Australia in July 2017 (vehicles built from February 2017) and applies only to front-wheel-drive variants (all engines and all body styles) including the Golf Wagon. The Golf R and the Alltrack are unrated.

The passenger compartment held its shape well in the fronal offset test. Pedal and steering wheel displacements were well controlled. Driver and passenger contact with the airbags was stable. All doors remained closed during the crash.

This vehicle scored 23.51 out of 36 points (Acceptable). The bumper scored maximum points for its protection of pedestrians' legs. The front edge of the bonnet showed a marginal level of protection in all areas tested. Protection was good In most areas of the bonnet likely to be struck by the head of a child but the protection offered to the head of an adult was predominantly poor or marginal.
